The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed public criticism of his performance, insisting he is only concerned with the approval of President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking in a strongly worded remark, Wike said he is unconcerned about public opinion as long as the president is satisfied with his work.

“I don’t care about what people say. So far Tinubu is satisfied with my work, I don’t give a damn,” he declared.

The comment underscores Wike’s increasingly blunt political style since assuming office, as well as his alignment with the Tinubu administration amid ongoing scrutiny of governance in the Federal Capital Territory.

His statement is likely to stir further debate in Nigeria’s political circles, where his actions and policy decisions in Abuja have continued to draw both praise and criticism.
