Accra- Ghana President Bola Tinubu has expressed his commitment to lifting African nations out of poverty and building resilient economies at their own pace. Speaking at the inauguration of President John Mahama in Ghana, Tinubu reiterated the importance of African leaders coming together to support each other in achieving economic progress.
Tinubu emphasized that African nations have nothing to prove to anyone except themselves, and that they have found the critical path to success. He praised Mahama’s vision and leadership, stating that Ghana’s transition to a new democratic government is a source of pride for the continent.
“We celebrate African Democracy today as Ghana and her beloved people mark the transition from one democratic government to another. This moment does more than symbolize another milestone in the evolution of Ghanaian democratic society,” Tinubu said.
Tinubu highlighted the importance of drawing inspiration from past leaders such as Kwame Nkrumah and Nigeria’s founding leaders in order to continue building a strong and prosperous Africa. He commended Mahama for his patriotic vision and his love for his nation and its people.
“Your new president is a man of patriotic vision and substance. He believes that your nation has a mission and intends for you all to fulfill it. No one can ask more of a leader than that,” Tinubu stated.
Tinubu concluded by reaffirming his support for Ghana and its people, and his belief that with strong leadership and unity, African nations can overcome poverty and achieve economic development.
