President Bola Tinubu has appealed to young Nigerians to remain committed to the country’s development, urging them to channel their talents into building the nation’s future rather than seeking opportunities abroad.
Addressing young Nigerians, Tinubu said the country remains their home and best hope for the future, encouraging them to innovate, work, participate in governance and help solve the nation’s challenges.
“To our young people: Nigeria is your home and your future. Build here, code here, work here, and vote here. Every great nation was built by those who stayed to solve problems, not by those who abandoned ship,” the president said.
The remarks come amid growing concerns over the increasing number of young Nigerians emigrating in search of better economic opportunities, a trend popularly referred to as the “Japa” movement.
Tinubu’s message underscores his administration’s call for greater youth participation in nation-building through innovation, entrepreneurship, civic engagement and democratic participation.
