Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, was received by President Bola Tinubu on Monday at the State House in Abuja, in what is the first known meeting between the two leaders since Fubara’s reinstatement last Thursday.
The meeting follows the end of a six-month state of emergency in Rivers State.
OBSERVERS TIMES gathered that the meeting commenced around 7:00 pm when Governor Fubara arrived at the President’s office complex.
Sources within the State House indicate that the discussion may be related to the ongoing speculation that the Rivers State governor is planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Details of the meeting are expected to be released later.
