Family members, Islamic clerics, community leaders and well-wishers on Monday gathered at the Igecheba family residence in Idah Local Government Area for a three‑day Fidau prayer in honour of the late DSP Abubakar Suleiman (Rtd.).
The service began at 11:30 a.m. and featured Quranic recitations, supplications and prayers led by Islamic scholars for the repose of the deceased’s soul. Clerics asked Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Al‑Jannatul Firdaus and reward his years of service. They also prayed for patience, strength and unity for the bereaved family during the period of mourning, which coincided with the holy month of Ramadan.
The event attracted sympathisers from within and beyond Idah, reflecting Suleiman’s standing in the community. Attendees remembered him as a disciplined officer, devoted family man and respected elder whose contributions will be long remembered.
In brief remarks, QS Aminu Abubakar Suleiman expressed gratitude to those who travelled to support the family, thanking religious leaders, community members, friends and associates for their solidarity. He prayed for divine reward for all who offered comfort and for safe journeys home.
The Fidau concluded with collective prayers for peace, unity and continued guidance for the Suleiman family and the wider community.
