Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has publicly disavowed any intention to run for president in 2027, reaffirming his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

In a statement released through his media office, Bello emphasized his belief that President Tinubu and his administration have performed admirably despite global challenges, deserving the support of all well-meaning Nigerians.

The statement also addressed recent online speculation fueled by a resurfaced image of a 2022 rally, which was falsely presented as a new campaign event signaling Bello’s presidential aspirations. Bello’s media team condemned these “mischief makers” and “witless bloggers” for attempting to create discord between the former governor and President Tinubu.

“Our Principal, His Excellency former Governor Yahaya Bello, has no 2027 presidential ambition,” the statement declared, while reiterating his “unflinching commitment to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027.”

The media office urged the public to dismiss the misleading post and remain vigilant against misinformation spread by those seeking to undermine Bello and create unnecessary conflict.
