The Appeal Court has mandated MTN to pay a fine of N15 million due to unauthorized deductions of airtime.
On Friday, the Court of Appeal in Abuja directed MTN Nigeria Communications Limited to pay N15 million in damages due to the improper deduction of a subscriber’s airtime resulting from unsolicited services.
The appellate court, in a unanimous ruling by a three-justice panel, characterized the automatic deduction of airtime from customers by the telecommunications giant for services that were not subscribed to as fraudulent.
