In a significant move to enhance power supply in his senatorial district, Senator Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi has successfully facilitated the installation of a 2x63MVA Mobile Sub-Station at Agbamu Road, Ila-Orangun.

This initiative follows a series of productive meetings over the past six months with the Honourable Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu. During these discussions, the Minister directed relevant agencies, including TCN, FGN Power, and IBEDC, to conduct site inspections for the project. The inspection team visited the proposed site twice and was warmly received by High Chief Paul Ogunrinade, the Ejemu of Ila-Orangun, and other notable chiefs, as instructed by Kabiyesi, the Orangun of Ila.

As part of his commitment to meeting the ministry’s requirements for the substation installation, Senator Fadeyi has agreed to procure 3,000 pre-paid meters through budget allocation, ensuring seamless electricity distribution to beneficiaries.

Once completed, the mobile Sub-Station will significantly enhance power supply, benefiting seven local government areas and over 40 communities within the Senatorial District. This initiative reflects Senator Fadeyi’s dedication to addressing power challenges in Osun Central and neighboring towns, creating approximately 1,000 direct jobs during construction and installation. It is expected to foster development through reliable electricity, improving medical services, supporting the Federal Teaching Hospital, federal and private universities, the College of Education, Ajagunla Radio Station, small and medium-scale enterprises, and boosting local manufacturing production.

In a gesture of appreciation, Senator Fadeyi expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the presidential power initiative; the amiable Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Senator (Dr) Asiwaju Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke; Honourable Minister of Power, Hon. Adebayo Adelabu; and the Ajiboye family compound for generously donating the land for the mobile Sub-Station.

He also extended his thanks to Kabiyesi Alayeluwa, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulwahab Olukayode Oyedotun Bibiire I, the Orangun of Ila, Chief Paul Ogunrinade, Alhaji Jimoh Akande, and prominent leaders in the community for their support and cooperation in bringing this transformative project to fruition.

While speaking, Senator Fadeyi noted that the construction and installation of the mobile Sub-Station, set to be completed within nine months, marks a significant step forward in his vision for improved infrastructure and an enhanced quality of life for the people of Osun Central Senatorial District.

In conclusion, the Distinguished Senator Fadeyi congratulated the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, members of the Federal House of Representatives, the Rt. Hon. Speaker, and members of the State House of Assembly from Osun Central. He also expressed appreciation to traditional rulers, thought leaders, clerics, and the good people of Osun Central Senatorial District.
