The father of Timilehin Ajayi, a gospel singer currently facing serious charges in connection with the death of National Youth Service Corps member Salome Adaidu, has made a heartfelt plea for his son’s release. Ajayi, who was arrested after being found in possession of Adaidu’s severed head, has been remanded by a Nasarawa State High Court as the investigation continues.
The tragic incident occurred in Agwan Sarki, Orozo, a community located near the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The family of the deceased, Salome Adaidu, is in mourning, while Ajayi’s father is calling for understanding and intervention from authorities. In an interview with Channels Television, he stated, “I want the government to help me so that the matter is settled. I want them to help me beg so that he is released.”
In stark contrast, Ajayi’s mother has expressed her resignation to the legal process. “If it was one of my daughters they did that to, how would I feel?” she questioned, emphasizing her belief that the government should handle the situation. “Everything is in their hands,” she concluded.
Timilehin Ajayi, who also identifies as a motivational speaker on TikTok, has reportedly confessed to the crime during interrogation. In a viral video, he claimed that he had been in a relationship with Adaidu for a year and that a heated argument escalated into violence when she allegedly attempted to stab him with a knife.
Following the incident, Ajayi disclosed that the rest of Adaidu’s body was at his residence. The remains of Salome Adaidu have since been laid to rest, with mournful scenes captured in a video showing the burial attended by grieving family and friends.
As the case unfolds, the community remains in shock, grappling with the loss of a promising young life and the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
