President Bola Tinubu has rescinded the reappointment of Dr Muheeba Dankaka as Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), ushering in former House of Representatives member Ayo Omidiran as her successor. Dr Dankaka’s tenure was marked by significant controversy, prompting this high-profile leadership change.
President Tinubu has also named Mohammed Musa as the FCC’s new Secretary, while retaining Kayode Oladele, another former MP from Ogun State, as a Commissioner. Oladele, appointed in 2024, previously served as Acting Chairman following the conclusion of Dr Dankaka’s initial term.
Further bolstering the Commission’s leadership, President Tinubu has renewed the appointments of Lawal Ya’u Roni, Abubakar Atiku Bunu, and Eludayo Eluyemi, representing Jigawa, Kebbi, and Osun States respectively, for a second term.
This strategic reshuffle underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to revitalising the FCC’s leadership to ensure effective governance and representation across Nigeria.
