The Nigeria Police Force has arrested a suspected bandit who was seen flaunting large sums of money in a viral social media video, leading officers to a cache of firearms in Kwara State.

Confirming the development on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, said operatives acted swiftly after the video drew widespread public concern. According to her, the suspect was tracked to a hideout where he was apprehended without resistance.

A subsequent search led to the recovery of firearms believed to be linked to criminal activities within the area. The police said the investigation has already begun to establish the source of the weapons and verify the suspect’s connections to banditry networks.

Ejire-Adeyemi noted that the arrest underscores the command’s commitment to intensifying security operations across the state. She added that the suspect will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.

The Police urged residents to remain vigilant and continue sharing credible information to support ongoing efforts to curb violent crime.
