Lokoja – The Nigerian Police Force has arrested a suspected pedophile for allegedly raping a 3-year-old girl in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
Daniel Dankulubi, an employee at Our Lover’s Bread bakery near Ganaja Junction, is accused of committing the heinous act on Monday.
The incident came to light when the victim complained of pain to her mother. Upon further questioning, the child revealed that Dankulubi had sexually assaulted her.
The distraught mother confronted the suspect at the bakery, leading to a tense situation. An angry mob attempted to apprehend Dankulubi, but community leaders intervened, urging them to allow the police to handle the matter.
The police promptly responded and took Dankulubi into custody.
The victim’s mother appealed to authorities to ensure justice is served and that the suspect faces the full consequences of his actions.
Chief Modupe Awoniyi, Founder of Rehoboth Children’s Home Initiative, strongly condemned the act, describing it as “barbaric and traumatic.”
The State Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya, confirmed the arrest and stated that the case has been transferred to the Command headquarters for further investigation.
