The CBN Governor, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, has inaugurated the new Board of the Agricultural Credit Guarantee Scheme Fund (ACGSF), reaffirming the Bank’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

He highlighted the Scheme’s vital role in de-risking agricultural lending since 1977 and called for a more innovative, inclusive and technology-driven approach to support farmers, especially women and youth.

With repayment rates of 90–98%, the Scheme continues to show strong impact. The new Board, led by Dr. Olusegun Oshin, is set to enhance collaboration, monitoring and real-time tracking to boost productivity and rural livelihoods.

Governor Cardoso highlights the ACGSF’s critical role in de-risking agricultural financing since 1977, calling for innovation and technology-driven support for farmers—especially women and youth.

The newly inaugurated ACGSF Board comprises Dr. Olusegun Oshin as Chairman, and members: Prof. Murtala Sabo Sagagi, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, Engr. Frank Satumari Kudla, Ms. Olusola Sowemimo, Ms. Adetoun Abbi-Olaniyan and Mr. Wondi Philip Ndanusa.

Deputy Governors of the Central Bank, departmental directors, and key staff were present at the event, showing broad institutional support for the revitalized scheme.
