Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared a state of national energy emergency in response to escalating tensions in the Middle East.
The executive order, signed by Marcos, states that the “resulting imminent danger” poses a significant threat to the country’s energy security.
A committee has been formed to oversee the steady supply and distribution of essential goods, including fuel, food, and medicine. Under the order, committee members are also tasked with ensuring the continuity of critical public services, transportation, and healthcare infrastructure.
