In a rare and candid critique from within the ruling party, former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu has openly acknowledged the widespread hardship and dissatisfaction among Nigerians under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Speaking to journalists recently, Adamu stated bluntly, “Thus far, our best (APC government) is not yet good enough, unfortunately. People are suffering, and they are complaining.” His remarks underscore growing frustration with the government’s handling of the country’s economic challenges.
” People Are Suffering, People Are Complaining -Adamu
“Thus far, our best (APC government) is not yet good enough, unfortunately. People are suffering, and they are complaining.
“We are here at their level, we listen to them and we just ask them not to cast aspersions on the leadership.
“Let’s pray for the leadership. To get the right bearing, the right thinking, have the right plan, uplift the fortunes of this country.” -Senator Abdullahi Adamu At Audience With Journalists Recently
Adamu’s comments mark a notable departure from the usual party-line support expected from a senior APC figure. By openly recognizing public grievances, he is signaling mounting pressure on the Tinubu administration to urgently address issues such as rising inflation, the fallout from fuel subsidy removals, and general economic hardship.
Highlighting the importance of empathy and dialogue, Adamu said, “We are here at their level, we listen to them and we just ask them not to cast aspersions on the leadership.” This reveals his personal engagement with citizens and an understanding of their concerns.
While refraining from direct criticism of the president, Adamu called for prayers and steadfast support for the government, urging the leadership to “get the right bearing, the right thinking, have the right plan, uplift the fortunes of this country.” His appeal for divine guidance and strategic focus suggests confidence that the administration can still steer the country toward recovery.
Though under Mohammed Buhari administration, Adamu was busy busy defending abysmal performance of Buhari lead government whom so many believe to have laid the foundation which Tinubu is trying to correct .
