The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Youths Frontier has expressed its strong support for Governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to fortifying the party in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued by Comrade Usman Okai Austin, the party’s candidate for the Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, the youth group emphasized the necessity of prioritizing the party’s internal stability before considering any coalition options.

The statement highlighted, “We must have a strong party foundation before discussing coalitions. Currently, the PDP is facing significant challenges and must be addressed urgently ahead of the 2027 elections. While exploring coalition options can be beneficial, it is crucial that the PDP does not appear desperate or beg other parties for alliances.”

The youth group underscored the importance of resolving the ongoing crises within the PDP, stating, “Fixing the party’s issues is paramount; we cannot build something on a shaky foundation.”

Furthermore, the group voiced its support for the position of the Governor’s Forum, asserting that the party must be in a strong position to reclaim power in the upcoming elections.

As the PDP navigates its current challenges, the National Youths Frontier remains committed to advocating for a unified and robust party that is ready to engage effectively in the political landscape.
