The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reaffirmed Sunday Udeh-Okoye as its National Secretary following a recent ruling by the Court of Appeal. The appellate court in Enugu had removed Senator Samuel Anyanwu in December and declared Udeh-Okoye as the rightful National Secretary of the party.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba stated that the party recognizes Udeh-Okoye as the legitimate national secretary as per the court ruling.

“We are a party that upholds the rule of law and we respect judicial decisions. We have received the judgment of the Court of Appeal affirming Udeh-Okoye as the national secretary of the party, and we will abide by it,” said Ologunagba.

He also condemned the attack on a journalist by a party staff member who supports the removed national secretary. Ologunagba assured that disciplinary actions will be taken after an investigation is completed.

The PDP, known for its support of press freedom and democratic principles, expressed regret over the incident and reiterated its commitment to transparency and openness in its operations. The party assured that such actions have no place in its values and promised to handle the matter according to its established code of conduct.
