The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has publicly criticised a section of President Bola Tinubu’s October 1st Independence Day speech, asserting that the individual who drafted the President’s comments on security “does not like him.”

He then offered a specific, hardline recommendation for President Tinubu to curb terrorism by holding his security architecture accountable.
Adeboye advised the government to give service chiefs a 90-day ultimatum to eliminate terrorists or resign. He referenced a similar directive given by former President Muhammadu Buhari, which was not followed through. He stressed that this time, the directive must be clear: service chiefs are not only to eliminate the terrorists but also to “eliminate the sponsors, no matter how influential they may be,” to successfully dismantle the financing networks.
Finally, Pastor Adeboye cautioned Nigeria regarding its international relationships, warning the nation to tread carefully as he believes no global power would come to the country’s defense in a major crisis.
