President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of DCG Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), with effect from 14th August 2025.
The announcement was made in an official statement signed by Abdulmalik Jibrin, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), on Tuesday in Abuja.
According to the Board, this appointment comes as Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, the outgoing CG, proceeds on retirement having reached the mandatory age of 60 by 1st August 2025.
“DCG Olumode brings decades of expertise and leadership to this new responsibility,” the CDCFIB noted. “He rose through the ranks, transferring from the FCT Fire Service to the Federal Fire Service, where he most recently served as Deputy Controller-General in charge of Human Resources at the Service Headquarters.”
Known for his professional diligence, Adeyemi has successfully completed all key in-service training and command courses, both locally and internationally. His credentials also extend to professional memberships, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management, among others.
The Board expressed its gratitude to the retiring Controller-General, describing him as “a dedicated officer who served the Service with vision and distinction.”
“Engr. Olola’s leadership ushered in significant reforms and innovations that have strengthened the Service’s response capabilities,” Jibrin stated.
