Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has lauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, describing him as a bridge-builder and a model political leader. This praise comes in light of the distinguished guests from various political backgrounds who attended his son’s wedding in Asaba.

President Tinubu made these remarks at the wedding of Mr. Clinton Oborevwori and his bride, Knowledge Davidson, held at the Living Faith Church in Asaba on Saturday. Represented by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, the President commended Governor Oborevwori for his inclusive leadership since taking office, emphasizing that he has truly been a governor for all Deltans.

He highlighted the Governor’s detribalized approach and called for all leaders to rise above political and religious divisions, stating that such unity would create a better environment for Nigerians to achieve their God-given destinies.

Wishing the newlyweds success in their marriage, President Tinubu encouraged them to let Christ guide their union and reminded them of the importance of honoring their marital vows.

In an interview during the ceremony, Governor Oborevwori expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu, fellow governors, and all the guests who attended, noting the President’s commitment to transcending political affiliations in his engagements. “Mr. President has sent the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, who is also one of our own, to represent him here, and he spoke very well. Deltans are very happy,” he said.

The Governor expressed joy for his family as he witnessed his son’s marriage, stating, “It is with great joy that one of my sons is getting married today. The wedding has been a success, and we give God the praise. It is the joy of every parent to see their children married after raising them to that stage.”

He advised the couple to remain united, emphasizing that “there is no perfect marriage” and that perseverance, patience, and prayer are essential for a successful union.

Chairing the occasion, Alhaji Dauda Lawal, Governor of Zamfara State, remarked on the significance of marriage as a union of honor and urged couples to lead exemplary lives. He noted the diverse array of guests from various political parties and sectors as a testament to Governor Oborevwori’s inclusive nature.

Pastor Adekunle Shiyanbade of the Winners Church delivered a sermon on the importance of togetherness in marriage, asserting that unions based on the fear of God, selfless love, truth, and companionship can withstand challenges. He congratulated Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Oborevwori for their love and encouraged them to keep Christ at the center of their marriage.

The ceremony was attended by numerous dignitaries, including the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, and governors from various states, as well as former Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and other prominent figures from the political and business communities.

This gathering not only celebrated the union of Clinton and Knowledge but also highlighted the spirit of unity and collaboration among Nigeria’s leaders.
