In a move for regional growth, Comr. Henry Negedu, President of the North Central Council of Youths (NCCY), has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) Bill into law on February 4, 2025. Speaking from Abuja, Comr. Negedu highlighted the vital role played by Senator Abba Moro, Senator Jibril Isah Echocho, and other distinguished senators in bringing this critical legislation to fruition.
On behalf of the dynamic youth of the North Central region, Comr. Negedu stated, “This historic decision marks a new dawn for our region, bringing hope for accelerated development, economic empowerment, and infrastructural transformation. With the NCDC established, we anticipate strategic interventions to tackle long-standing challenges such as youth unemployment, inadequate infrastructure, and the pressing need for enhanced security and social welfare programs.”
He also commended the leadership of the National Assembly, particularly Senate President Sen. Godswill Akpabio, for their dedication to fostering equitable development across Nigeria.
As representatives of North Central Nigeria’s youth, Comr. Negedu pledged their full support for the effective implementation of the Commission’s mandate, emphasizing the importance of transparency and inclusivity in addressing community needs and leveraging the potential of young people as catalysts for progress.
In closing, he reiterated, “Thank you, Mr. President, for your unwavering commitment to national development.”
