Nigerians Spend ₦803.7bn on Nigerian Breweries Drinks in H1 2026

Nigerians spent a total of ₦803.68 billion on alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages produced by Nigerian Breweries during the first six months of 2026, according to the company’s unaudited condensed interim financial statements.

The financial results for the six months ended 30 June 2026 showed strong consumer demand despite prevailing economic pressures, with the brewer recording significant growth in revenue and profitability.

The company posted a net revenue of ₦803.68 billion, while cost of sales stood at ₦448.82 billion, resulting in a gross profit of ₦354.86 billion during the period under review.

Its selling and distribution expenses amounted to ₦159.62 billion, while administrative expenses totalled ₦31.96 billion. This left the company with ₦163.97 billion in operating profit before accounting for finance costs.

The brewer reported net finance costs of ₦7.65 billion, bringing profit before tax to ₦156.33 billion. After taxation, profit after tax stood at ₦92.95 billion.

The company’s earnings per share for the half-year period were reported at ₦3.00, reflecting improved returns to shareholders.

The latest financial performance underscores the resilience of Nigeria’s beverage market, with consumers continuing to spend heavily on both alcoholic and non-alcoholic products despite rising inflation and broader economic challenges.

The results position Nigerian Breweries for a strong performance in the second half of the year as it continues to leverage its extensive product portfolio and nationwide distribution network.
