Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, says Nigeria’s military partnership with China is already delivering tangible results in tackling insecurity.

Speaking at the 76th anniversary celebration of the People’s Republic of China in Lagos, Obasa noted that Chinese support in local arms production and military training has strengthened Nigeria’s security response and benefitted other African nations.

He also praised China’s role in Lagos’ infrastructure growth, citing major investments in roads, bridges, and rail projects that have boosted the state’s economy and improved livelihoods.

Obasa recalled the recent meeting between Presidents Xi Jinping and Bola Tinubu, describing it as a milestone for China-Nigeria relations. He said both leaders agreed to deepen strategic cooperation, positioning the two nations as key players in shaping a new era of China-Africa engagement.
