The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has disowned a purported list of candidates for forthcoming elections in Imo, Abia and Anambra states, saying the document circulating on social media is false and was not issued by the party.
In a statement, the NDC described the list as “fake and unauthorised”, urging members, supporters and the general public to disregard it.
The party stressed that it had not released any official list of candidates for the elections in the three southeastern states and warned against the spread of misinformation capable of misleading the public.
It added that any official communication regarding its electoral activities would be made through its recognised channels, calling on the public to rely only on verified party announcements.
