Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has reaffirmed her commitment to visiting her constituency for the Sallah break, dismissing rumors that she has canceled the trip.
In a statement released by her media team on Tuesday, Akpoti-Uduaghan urged her supporters to disregard speculation suggesting a change in her plans.
Her announcement follows the Kogi State Government’s recent ban on rallies and public gatherings, citing alleged security concerns.
Also, the government has halted fishing and other activities, attributing the decision to the loss of two lives in Kasemiya, Katubo, and Umozu Ette, all located in Kogi Local Government Area, Kogi West.
“Despite rumours circulating online, there has been no official announcement from our office regarding the cancellation of this visit.
“We would like to assure the public that all necessary arrangements are in place to ensure a successful and joyous event. We invite all members of the community to join us in marking this special occasion,” part of the statement.
