Peter Obi, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), says his name has never been associated with thuggery, rigging or any form of electoral malpractice.

In a statement on his X page on Tuesday, Obi challenged Nigerians to investigate his record, insisting that none of his political contests had been marred by violence or manipulation.

“Throughout my political journey, I have never been involved in thuggery, the snatching of ballot boxes, or any form of electoral malpractice,” he wrote.

“I challenge anyone: conduct your investigations. You will find no stains of rigging or violence associated with my name.”

The former Anambra governor said his politics has always been guided by civility and fairness, noting that those who ran against him were never denied their rights or falsely accused.

“Ask those who have contested against me —none were ever denied their rights, framed, or falsely accused,” Obi said.
