The Chief Executive Officer Maikaya Development Foundation Alhaji Dr, Musa Mohammed Maikaya has foreclosed that with over Twenty years of existence of the foundation it’s activities transcended being limited to Toto LGA ,Nasarawa West Senatorial District but covers the entire Nasarawa State without sentiments.
This, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dr Musa Mohammed foreclosed in an exclusive interview with Observers Times correspondent recently.
He refuted insinuations from some quarters limiting the foundation only to Toto,Nasarawa West,saying the operations of Maikaya Foundation is open to all the Thirteen Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State.
According to him” we ve provided scholarship for people of Nasarawa state consistently for over Ten years and got a stock-short seven years ago and made it online Fours year ago,servicing the whole of Nasarawa State students of higher institutions We ve embarked on renovation of schools in some parts of Nasarawa State,the last was putting in order a science laboratory in one of the junior secondary school which furnished, provided books and equipment.
” And in the health sector if you would recalled ,just last month we enrolled 750 persons under the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Scheme.This cut across every local government area and wards in the state.Recently we had a football tournament which have just been concluded in Toto and Doma which is in the southern senatorial district.
” We have plans on ground to kick start same football tournament in the first quarter of this year at Akwanga ,Nasarawa Eggon and Wamba ,the Northern Senatorial District of the State, all these are geared towards creating unity amongst the people and of course offer an opportunity to those who are interested in football to showcasing their skills” He asserted
Dr Musa Maikaya further explained that the tournament have gone through structuring and has been structured as the activities has been going on ceaselessly for the pass Five years,he said the fifth edition was concluded successfully .
” So we have been on beyond a local government for years and over 500 people have benefitted from our training on skills acquisition,empowered more than a thousand women in post COVID era,because we felt that the COVID had gotten people down and they will need support to get on with their social activities. So for us an organization, the mantra is all about adding continuous value to lives.
” As I speak with you we just commissioned a solar powered boreholes in a community that was suffering from drinking water problem for years.Therefore Maikaya Foundation has no boundaries to what we feel can add value to life” He stated.
He pointed out that the foundation depended not on any form of partnership or sponsorship of foreign partners ,but is a elf sponsored programme which the resources are generated within its membership” so we are not being sponsored by any country ,organization or the government” He posited.
