The Lagos State government has confirmed the arrest of Stella Nwadigo, a nursery school teacher at Christ-Mitots School in Ikorodu. Nwadigo was apprehended by operatives of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) following a viral video showing her physically abusing a three-year-old boy.
The video, which circulated widely on social media, depicts Nwadigo slapping the child repeatedly for failing to complete a classroom assignment.
The incident sparked widespread outrage, with many Nigerians calling for the teacher’s arrest and the closure of the school.
The DSVA commended the public for bringing the matter to their attention.
