On Friday, the Labour Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) convened in Abuja, where it appointed Senator Usman Nenadi as Interim National Chairman and Senator Darlington Nwokocha as Interim National Secretary.
These appointments form part of the establishment of the party’s interim working committee, tasked with overseeing all party operations until the upcoming national convention, at which a new NEC will be elected.
During the meeting, the NEC also approved the schedule for conducting ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses, culminating in the National Convention.
The National Secretariat has been directed to publish comprehensive guidelines and timelines to ensure a transparent and democratic electoral process at all levels.
