Senator Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau South, former Plateau State Governor, has expressed deep gratitude to Governors Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State and Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State for their recent condolence visit to APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshewe Yilwatda, following the loss of his mother, Mama Lydia Yilwatda.

The visit, which took place in Jos, saw Senator Lalong joined by former Governor Joshua Dariye as they welcomed the two governors who came to offer support during the difficult period. Governor Abdulrazaq, who also serves as Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, described the death as “a significant loss not just to the family but to Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole.” He conveyed “the heartfelt condolences of Nigerian governors” and reminded the family to “take solace in the legacy of a life dedicated to service.”

Governor Abiodun spoke on behalf of the South West Governors Forum and lauded the late matriarch’s contributions, praying for “eternal rest for her soul and comfort for the family.”

Professor Yilwatda expressed profound appreciation for the solidarity shown, noting that “the family has been greatly comforted by this outpouring of support from leaders and well-wishers.” Senator Lalong also highlighted the importance of such displays of unity, stressing that “this support strengthens not only the individual but reinforces the bonds within our party and nation.”
