Former Kano governor and Nigerian opposition figure, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, has held a strategic meeting with members of the Kwankwasiyya political movement amid growing speculation over a possible party switch.

The closed-door meeting took place on Miller Road in Kano State, where Kwankwaso met with key loyalists of the Kwankwasiyya structure, a grassroots political network widely associated with his influence in northern Nigeria.

While details of the discussions remain undisclosed, unverified reports circulating around the area suggest the veteran politician may be weighing a move from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The speculation has not been officially confirmed by Kwankwaso or his associates, and no formal statement has been issued regarding any potential realignment.

Political observers say any such move, if confirmed, could significantly reshape alliances within Nigeria’s already fluid opposition landscape, particularly as parties begin early manoeuvring ahead of future elections.

For now, the meeting has heightened political attention in Kano and beyond, with supporters and analysts awaiting clarity on Kwankwaso’s next move.
