The Kogi State Government has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to securing justice for the late photojournalist Ayo Aiyepeku, who was brutally murdered.
In a statement issued by Kingsley Fanwo, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, in Lokoja, the government expressed its resolute determination to bring the perpetrators to account. Governor Ahmed Ododo has ordered security agencies to conduct a meticulous investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr Aiyepeku’s tragic death.
“While justice cannot restore the life lost, it will provide solace to the family of the deceased, affirming that their son’s death was not in vain,” the statement read. “The safety and security of our citizens remain paramount to this administration. We are committed to leaving no stone unturned in our pursuit of justice, ensuring those responsible for this heinous crime face the full weight of the law.”
The government further noted that investigations into the mysterious circumstances of the murder, including the death of the prime suspect, are ongoing. The public is urged to remain vigilant and assist law enforcement by providing credible information to aid the inquiry.
