The Katsina State Government has approved the payment of monthly stipends to Christian clerics, a move aimed at promoting religious inclusion and supporting faith leaders across the state. The announcement was made by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Katsina Chapter, in a statement signed by its Secretary, Dr. Musa Daniel Danladi, on behalf of Chairman Very Rev. Fr. Richard Shuaibu Liti.

Governor Dikko Umar Radda also approved the recruitment of Christian Religious Studies (CRS) teachers into public schools. CAN described the initiative as a landmark step towards inclusivity and moral development, stressing that the request for CRS teachers had been a long-standing demand from the Christian community in Katsina.

Dr. Musa noted that the stipends would encourage pastors to pray for peace and progress in the state, while the recruitment of CRS teachers would boost both moral upbringing and academic performance among Christian students. He called on qualified Christians to apply online for the teaching positions and urged the government to sustain the program beyond the current administration to strengthen religious unity.
