Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has relieved Engr. Buba Galadima of his appointment as Chairman of the Governing Council of Kano State Polytechnic, a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said on Saturday.
The governor has approved the appointment of the Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, as the new chairman of the institution’s governing council.
The statement said the decision to relieve Galadima followed a restructuring and alignment with the administration’s Kano First agenda. “Although the tenure of the Governing Council is for a period of three years, the appointment of the Chairman was terminated before expiration due to the ongoing reforms for optimal performance of the Polytechnic,” the statement added.
Governor Yusuf thanked Engr. Buba Galadima for services rendered during his tenure and urged the newly appointed chairman to “bring his wealth of experience, leadership and commitment to bear in repositioning Kano State Polytechnic for greater academic and administrative excellence,” the statement said.
Buba Galadima is a known ally of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and a prominent chieftain of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP).
