The Kaduna state government has committed €110 million to the development of a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system aimed at improving urban mobility and reducing traffic congestion within the metropolis.
Director-General of the Kaduna State Transport Regulatory Authority (KADSTRA), Inuwa Ibrahim, stated this during a stakeholders’ training held in Kaduna Tuesday with the theme: “BRT as a Tool for Moving Growing Population Sustainably in a Digital Age.”
He said the BRT initiative, which spans a 24-kilometre corridor from Kawo to Sabon Tasha, had already commenced with full implementation set to begin soon.
“It is a 24-kilometre corridor from Kawo to Sabon Tasha. The whole project is €110 million,” he said.
Also speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Public Works and Infrastructure, Ibrahim Hamza, reiterated Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to transforming urban transport and enhancing the quality of life and economic activities in the state.
