In a sweeping declaration that has sparked both hope and skepticism, Hon. James Faleke, the Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, announced at a vibrant rally in Kebbi State that the era of hunger and economic hardship for Nigerians is over. This bold assertion came during a gathering organized by the All Progressives Congress (APC), where thousands of supporters rallied in solidarity behind Governor Nasir Idris.
Faleke attributed this newfound optimism to the steadfast commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose administration he claims is dedicated to propelling Nigeria towards prosperity. “I am happy to be here and see the people of Kebbi State filled with joy due to the governor’s performance,” Faleke declared. “If a country must progress, the people must endure some hardships, but those hardships are now over. Our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is determined to move the country forward and will not disappoint you.”
The rally, which saw a sea of APC flags and enthusiastic chants, underscored the party’s efforts to consolidate support in the region. Faleke’s remarks were met with cheers from the crowd, reflecting a palpable sense of optimism among party loyalists. He emphasized that the administration’s initiatives are beginning to bear fruit, promising that the days of economic distress are behind Nigerians.
Governor Nasir Idris, who has been in office for a year and a half, received accolades for his achievements in infrastructural development and enhancing security within Kebbi State. He echoed Faleke’s sentiments, crediting President Tinubu’s support as a pivotal factor in the state’s progress. “The President’s backing has been instrumental in our achievements. Together, we are building a stronger Kebbi and a more prosperous Nigeria,” Idris stated.
The rally also served as a platform for both leaders to outline future plans aimed at sustaining this momentum. Faleke highlighted various economic policies and initiatives that the Tinubu administration is rolling out, which he believes will create job opportunities and stimulate growth across the nation. He urged citizens to remain patient and optimistic, assuring them that tangible improvements are on the horizon.
