Suspected armed attackers stormed a Nigerian Immigration Service office in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, in a brazen overnight raid, making away with firearms belonging to security personnel, authorities said.

The assailants reportedly overpowered officers on duty before carting away several weapons from the facility. No fatalities were immediately reported, although the incident has heightened concerns over the growing audacity of armed groups targeting security installations across the country.

Security agencies have launched an investigation and intensified efforts to track down the attackers and recover the stolen weapons.

The latest attack underscores persistent security challenges in parts of Nigeria, where criminal and armed groups have increasingly targeted government facilities, raising questions about the protection of critical institutions and personnel.
