A significant number of All Progressives Congress (APC) members from Gada Local Government Area in Sokoto State have defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), signaling growing dissatisfaction within the ruling party. The defectors were formally welcomed into the ADC fold on Sunday by Senator Abubakar Gada, a prominent figure in the ADC coalition.

Senator Gada highlighted the underlying reasons for the shift, stating, “Our people are battling serious security threats that have devastated farming – our main source of livelihood – leading to widespread poverty, unemployment, and hunger.” He pointed out that both Sokoto East and other parts of the country are grappling with escalating insecurity and economic hardships.

“The increasing number of Nigerians joining the ADC reflects their yearning for genuine change. They want a party capable of addressing the country’s challenges, and it is clear that confidence in the APC government is waning,” Gada asserted.

He further emphasised that ADC’s mission to rescue Nigeria resonates with ordinary citizens frustrated by the current administration’s performance, offering hope for a better future. “Many Nigerians believe in our vision, and that’s why they are coming home to ADC,” he concluded.
