Isaac Fayose has urged his elder brother and former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, to decline his recently announced appointment as chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), arguing that the position is beneath his political stature.
In a statement that has sparked public debate, Isaac Fayose suggested that the former governor should instead allow his son to take up the appointment, insisting that Ayo Fayose’s political experience and influence make him better suited for a more strategic national role.
According to Isaac, his brother remains one of Nigeria’s most recognisable political figures and should not accept what he described as a position that fails to reflect his years of public service and political relevance.
He maintained that handing the appointment to his son would be a more appropriate decision, while allowing the former governor to remain available for higher national responsibilities.
Neither Ayo Fayose nor the Federal Government had publicly responded to Isaac Fayose’s remarks at the time of filing this report.
