Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has escalated his public feud with Governor Seyi Makinde, releasing documents he claims prove the Oyo State Government received ₦50 billion from the Federal Government following the January 2024 Ibadan explosion.

The disclosure comes 24 hours after Governor Makinde challenged Fayose to provide evidence of the intervention fund during a televised rebuttal. Fayose alleges that while ₦50 billion was provided by the Tinubu administration, only ₦4.5 billion was actually allocated to the victims.

“I had to do this so Nigerians will know who is being sincere,” Fayose stated on Sunday. He further alleged that the balance of the funds was diverted to fund Governor Makinde’s rumored presidential ambitions—a move Fayose claims is fueling the current crisis within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Fayose concluded by challenging the Governor to legal action, hinting that more documents regarding Oyo State’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and other federal interventions would be released in due course.
