Prominent human rights lawyer Femi Falana has passionately called on Nigerian youths to actively “reclaim” their nation and reshape its future trajectory.
- Speaking at the sixth Annual Youth Leadership Conference (RISE 2025) held at the University of Lagos on Saturday, Falana emphasized the starkly different realities facing the younger generation compared to his own.
- “Your generation has a duty to reclaim the country,” the senior advocate asserted, urging youths to challenge the existing power structures and redefine Nigeria’s potential.
- Falana highlighted the struggles faced by young Nigerians and stressed the importance of holding leaders accountable. He also encouraged them to find inspiration in the works of influential African musicians.
- Olusegun Odufuwa, the convener of the RISE 2025 conference, explained that the theme – Resilience, Innovation, Social Responsibility, and Entrepreneurship – was intended as a direct call to action for Nigerian youths to rise up and shape their destiny.
