Senator Dino Melaye, a prominent figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has asserted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is effectively under the control of agents loyal to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Presidential Villa. He delivered these remarks during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Monday.
Melaye described the PDP as “dead and buried,” adding, “Apart from our Lord Jesus Christ no dead can rise again and I want to tell you that whatever you are seeing is make-shift, the dead is dead, we can only advertise the obituary.” He alleged, “PDP was sold and I’m not sure if they got the receipt of payment but it was sold and what you have now is APC-controlled PDP.”
Reacting to comments made by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde about the need to rebuild the PDP, Melaye said, “If a sitting governor is saying let’s have a party first, it means that there is no party.” He declared his allegiance to the ADC, stating it is “the party that will unseat Tinubu and by the grace of God send Tinubu out of the Villa, come May 29, 2027.”
