In a strongly worded statement reported by Observers Times, the spokesperson of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of engaging in deeply troubling conduct.
Abdullahi alleged that “something devious is going on,” claiming that the current situation is even more alarming than during the era of former military ruler Sani Abacha. He went further to describe INEC’s actions as resembling those of “a criminal organisation,” raising serious concerns about the integrity of the electoral body.
The remarks have sparked fresh debate over electoral transparency and governance, with observers calling for clarity and accountability from the commission.
