The concert management for the Taye Currency event held in Ibadan, Oyo State, has explained the reasons behind the decision not to allow Habib Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, to perform at the concert.

In an exclusive interview with Tribune Online, Jarule Entertainment, the organizer of the concert, stated that verified security concerns regarding the singer, stemming from his recent comments about Ibadan, led to the decision to keep him off the stage.

“We consulted with the commissioner of police about the situation and even signed an undertaking. While we were provided with adequate security at the venue, we received reports that some individuals were still inquiring about Portable’s whereabouts and accommodations in Ibadan. Consequently, it was decided that he should not perform at the event,” Jarule explained.

He added, “Portable was the only artist unable to perform on the lineup. It’s an unfortunate situation, but as a professional management team, we prioritize security above all else. This is why he couldn’t take the stage, and we hope the matter can be resolved quickly.”
