The Naira soared against the Dollar during the Christmas Holiday, gaining N135 in value. According to a Bureau de Change operator in Wuse Zone 4, the Naira closed at N1640 per dollar on Monday, up from N1,775 on Friday. This represents a significant increase in value for the Naira.
Additionally, data from the Central Bank of Nigeria indicated that the Naira strengthened slightly to N1539.55 on Monday, compared to N1,541.68 on Friday.
These positive developments in the foreign exchange market coincided with the Nigerian government’s announcement of three days of public holidays to celebrate Christmas and New Year.
