In a recent statement, Nollywood actress Chika Ike has addressed swirling rumors regarding the paternity of her unborn child, firmly asserting that Senator Ned Nwoko is not the father.
Taking to Instagram, Ike felt compelled to clarify the situation, emphasizing the importance of dispelling misinformation surrounding her personal life, particularly as it pertains to her child.
“Over the years, I have been the subject of various unfounded rumors, which I typically ignore. However, this situation is different as it concerns my child,” she stated. “Ned Nwoko is not the father of my baby. I find it amusing that people engage in guessing games about my life. I have no intention of becoming anyone’s seventh wife; polygamy is simply not for me.”
Ike further expressed her frustration with the public’s assumptions, stating, “I have been pregnant for months, and no one knew until I chose to announce it. The idea that anyone could know the identity of my child’s father is laughable.”
She urged those spreading false information to continue their speculation, while she focuses on enjoying her pregnancy.
The actress’s comments come in the wake of rumors suggesting a romantic involvement between her and Nwoko, which intensified following the deactivation of his wife Regina Daniels’ Instagram account, sparking further public intrigue.
In response to the allegations, Nwoko’s team issued a statement categorically denying the claims. His Director of Communications described the rumors as “entirely baseless” and a product of malicious speculation, urging the public to disregard them.
The statement read, “We categorically state that these claims are entirely baseless and a product of malicious speculation.”
As the situation unfolds, both Ike and Nwoko are seeking to set the record straight amidst the ongoing speculation.
