Iran has launched two intermediate-range ballistic missiles targeting the strategic Diego Garcia airbase, a key US-UK military facility hosting B-2 Spirit bombers roughly 4,000km from Iranian territory, according to reports.

One missile reportedly failed mid-flight, while the second triggered a US naval interception attempt, with officials unable to immediately confirm whether it was successfully neutralised.

The attempted strike — one of Iran’s longest-range missile operations to date — underscores escalating regional tensions and signals a potential expansion of Tehran’s strike capabilities beyond the Middle East.
