Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has commended the return of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to her office at the National Assembly, describing the development as a clear sign that fairness has prevailed over political intimidation.
The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a statement on Tuesday said, “This is the triumph of reason over tyranny.”
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan resumed at the National Assembly complex earlier in the day after Senate authorities reopened her office. She was accompanied by jubilant supporters who chanted solidarity songs as she walked into the building.

Atiku praised her resilience, stressing that her victory symbolises hope for democracy. “What happened today is not just about one Senator, it is about defending the principles of democracy and the rights of the people she represents,” he said.
The reopening of Akpoti-Uduaghan’s office comes after weeks of political tension and public debate over the treatment of opposition voices in the Senate. Observers say the latest development may ease tensions in Kogi Central, where the Senator enjoys significant grassroots support.
