Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar met with Rauf Aregbesola, the immediate past Minister of Interior, at Aregbesola’s residence in Ilesa on Friday. The meeting took place during Atiku’s visit to Osun State for the coronation of the new Owa Obokun of Ijesaland.
Adding a layer of political intrigue, a group of drummers associated with Aregbesola were heard chanting “Tinubu maa lu’le” (Tinubu will lose) in 2027.
Atiku, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in the last election, was accompanied by former Vice President Namadi Sambo. A Facebook video posted by Atiku showed Aregbesola welcoming the Waziri of Adamawa alongside members of his new political group.
Among those present were former Osun State House of Assembly Speaker Najeem Salaam, former Secretary to the State Government Moshood Adeoti, former Senator Adelowo Oriolowo, and Alhaji Isaa Adesiji, chairman of Aregbesola’s group in the state, along with other former cabinet members.
