The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Kamilu Sa’idu Wanban Kasuwar Daji the winner of the supplementary election for Kaura Namoda South State Constituency in Zamfara State.
Professor Lawal Sa’ad, the Returning Officer from Federal University Gusau, announced on Thursday that Kamilu Sa’idu secured 8,182 votes, surpassing his closest contender from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 5,543 votes.
“With the highest number of votes and having met all legal requirements, Kamilu Sa’idu is hereby declared duly elected,” Professor Sa’ad stated.
The victory further consolidates APC’s foothold in Zamfara amid ongoing political contests with PDP across the region.
